Synopsis

During the reign of Emperor Da Zhou, political corruption runs rampant and treacherous officials dominate the court. Bu Liang Ren—a covert assassination unit answering directly to the emperor—suddenly finds itself without a leader when their chief, Yuan Tiangang, abruptly resigns and disappears. Adrift and unsure what comes next, Yuan Tiangang follows a mysterious brocade pouch left behind by his old friend Li Chunfeng. It leads him to the Anle Pavilion in Chang'an, which turns out to be a brothel. There, he encounters an unlikely cast of characters—people desperate for freedom, seeking immortality, chasing power—and his life takes an unexpected turn.
