Synopsis

Shrine maidens with swords have been fighting supernatural creatures called aratama for centuries. These sword-wielding girls, known as Toji, wear school uniforms and work as an official police unit—specifically a "special religious service police squad." The government not only lets them carry swords but actually employs them as officers. There are five government schools across the country where Toji train, and every spring the best students from each school compete in a national tournament. As the competition approaches, the representatives put in serious training to sharpen their skills and prove themselves.
