Synopsis

Tsukimihara Academy looks like a perfect school, but it's actually a high-tech death trap created by the Moon Cell computer. The place exists to host the next Holy Grail War, and it's populated with 256 Earth-projected souls who have what it takes to become Masters. Only 128 of them will actually be chosen for the tournament and given a Servant—the rest? They get purged. Hakuno Kishinami wakes up bleeding out and decides he's not going down without a fight. Driven by some mysterious rage, he's desperate to survive, and when a relentless attacker corners him, he stumbles onto a crimson blade stuck in the ground. Pulling it free summons Saber, his Servant, who tears through his pursuer in a burst of rose petals. Now that he's got actual power, Hakuno has to make his way to the Angelica Cage at the heart of Moon Cell itself—assuming he can survive the journey. Down there, he'll finally figure out why this artificial world even exists and learn the truth about his own past.
