Synopsis

Humanity lives underground in the "Labyrinth," sprawling caverns divided into isolated colonies where the surface world has faded into myth or forgotten memory. To survive down here, colonists specialize in different roles—Workers mine the ore that keeps everything running, while Markers venture into the Labyrinth's surprisingly green depths to scout routes and gather intel. The real problem, though, is the kaijuu: massive creatures ranging from child-sized to building-sized that attack anything human. The worst part? The biggest ones can smash straight through colony walls. Memenpu is a nine-year-old prodigy whose inventions have made life easier for the Workers in her colony. Lately she's been having dreams about a place with an endless sky—no cavern ceiling, no bedrock. It's become an obsession. She wants to become a Marker, explore the Labyrinth, and find this impossible place for herself. Her father Gagumber thinks she's insane for even suggesting it, but a kaijuu attack changes everything and pulls her into an adventure that ends up reshaping humanity's entire future.
