Iwahara Yuji is a manga artist from Memanbetsu, Hokkaido. After art school, he started working as a graphic designer at Hudson Soft before transitioning to manga. He debuted in 1994 with a story in Afternoon that won the magazine's Four Seasons Award—an honor he'd go on to win three more times over the next couple of years.

In the West, he's best known for King of Thorn and Chikyu Misaki, both of which got English releases. He also did art duties on Quest, Marvel's short-lived Tsunami imprint title.
