Daisuke Dojima, a second-year high school student with a mysterious past of abduction, gets pulled into the "Shibuya Drift"—a strange phenomenon that transports him and his childhood friends Gai, Lu, Marimari, and Keisaku over 300 years into the future. They wake up in a post-apocalyptic Shibuya, now overrun with wilderness, ruins, and massive mechanical monsters called "Revisions" that immediately start attacking them. A girl named Milo—who shares a name with someone from Daisuke's past—appears and hands them mobile suits called "String Puppets," telling them their mission is to save Shibuya and find their way back home. As the group splits up and faces mounting challenges, they're guided by cryptic prophecies that hint at their role in everything that's happening. Now they have to survive the wasteland, figure out what's really going on, and somehow make it back to their own time.
