Petit Eva: Evangelion@School
Bandai Channel announced that Petit Eva ~Evangelion@School~, billed as the first official super-deformed Evangelion spinoff, is getting a video adaptation. The news hit in Newtype magazine's September issue. The whole thing's basically a gag series that reimagines the EVA cast as students at Nerv School in Tokyo-3, with Gendō as principal and Misato as a teacher. You've got three different Rei clones running around, the EVA-01 reimagined as a school bully named Evanchō, and Jet Alone turned into JA-ko, a shy android girl who's treated as a hidden character. Character designer Ryuusuke Hamamoto created the look, and the series spawned four-panel manga gags across four different magazines—Monthly Shōnen Ace, Newtype, Dengeki Hobby Magazine, and Figure Oh. Beyond that, Petit Eva exploded into merchandise: super-deformed figures, limited-edition Doritos, the whole deal.
