A CG movie based on CyberConnect2's hit .hack//G.U. games, set within the story of the original trilogy. Haseo is a feared Player Killer Killer in the MMORPG The World:R2, known as the "Terror of Death." Everything changes when he encounters someone he believes to be Tri-Edge—the player responsible for putting his friend Shino in a coma six months ago. Instead, it's Azure Kite, who completely demolishes Haseo in combat, strips him of his entire inventory and gear, and Data Drains him back down to level 1. Desperate to understand this power and find a way to save Shino, Haseo acquires an Avatar called Skeith, which grants him access to Data Drain abilities and the strength he needs to fight back. From there, his real hunt begins: tracking down Tri-Edge, a Player Killer whose victims apparently can't log back into The World after being defeated. Haseo is determined to find answers and bring Shino back.
