Synopsis

Yamato Akitsuki moves to Tokyo from rural Hiroshima to start high school, taking a deal with his aunt and cousin: free room and board at their bathhouse and girls' dormitory in exchange for helping run the place. On his first day, he spots a girl practicing high jump at a nearby track and can't stop thinking about her. Turns out she's Suzuka Asahina, a serious track athlete who's both a resident at the dorm and his classmate. She's a perfectionist who finds Yamato annoying—he's too laid-back and sloppy for her tastes. But Yamato's determined to impress her. He joins the track team after realizing he's actually pretty good at sprinting, and throws himself into training. Through the team, his classmates, and the constant chaos of drunk college students living in the dorm, he starts pushing himself harder, both as an athlete and as a person, hoping to become someone Suzuka might actually respect.
