Synopsis

Staz Charlie Blood is a vampire lord who controls the Eastern district of Demon World. He's got a fearsome reputation as a brutal, bloodthirsty tyrant, but that's basically all rumor—in reality, he's just an otaku who's obsessed with Japanese culture and has zero interest in actually drinking human blood. He leaves running his territory to his subordinates so he can spend his days glued to anime, manga, and video games instead. Everything changes when Fuyumi Yanagi, a Japanese girl, accidentally stumbles through a portal into the demon world. Staz is thrilled to finally meet someone from Japan in person. But before things can go anywhere, his territory gets invaded, and Fuyumi ends up dead. She becomes a ghost stuck wandering around, and Staz—completely heartbroken—makes a deal with himself: he'll resurrect her. It's the perfect excuse, really, since bringing her back to life would mean he'd have access to the human world, something he's always wanted. Blood Lad follows Staz and Fuyumi as they team up with Bell, a spatial magician, and Wolf, a half-werewolf, to search for magic powerful enough to bring humans back from the dead.
