Eagle Riders (2)
Kagaku Ninja-tai Gatchaman F
After what looked like Leader X's final defeat in Gatchaman II, a surviving fragment of him regenerates and evolves into Z. Teaming up with Count Egobossler—head of the Egobossler family, along with his henchmen Mechandol and Kempler—Z aims to wipe out Earth and take down the Science Ninja Team for good. With Anderson gone, Dr. Nambu takes over as head of the ISO, and the team relocates to their new underwater headquarters in Gallatown. They gain a new engineer, Kamo, and after the New GodPhoenix gets destroyed early in the series, they're equipped with the Gatchaspartan to replace it. This mecha has a special Hypershoot mode that only Ken can activate, powered by his new Gatchafencer sword. As the story unfolds, the team discovers that Ken's repeated use of Hypershoot is exposing him to lethal radiation levels. Keep pushing it and he'll die. Meanwhile, Z's working on an endgame: launching an antimatter asteroid at Earth, codenamed "Poison Apple."
