Synopsis

Mikiya leaves Shiki with a cat to look after while he's gone, ignoring her protests. Shiki has no idea what to do with the thing at first, but the cat clearly prefers Mikiya anyway and just mopes around missing him. Meanwhile, across town, Ririsu Miyazuki visits the spot where her friend killed herself, planning to do the same. She runs into Fujino Asagami, a blind girl from her class, and despite having little in common, something about Asagami reminds Miyazuki of her dead friend. Through their encounter, Asagami helps her work through some of that pain. Two months later, Mikiya decides to spend New Year's with Shiki instead of his family. His sister Azaka isn't happy about it and ends up celebrating with her school friends instead. As snow falls, Mikiya thinks about what he really wants—for Shiki to be happy.
