Synopsis

Squad 10 is sent to guard a royal procession carrying a powerful artifact known as the Ouin. Captain Hitsugaya and Lieutenant Matsumoto are overseeing things when the caravan gets ambushed. The attackers tear through the procession and make off with the Ouin. After a quick fight with one of them, Hitsugaya abandons his post to chase the thieves down, leaving Matsumoto and the rest of the squad behind in confusion. The Seireitei doesn't take this well. They brand Hitsugaya a traitor and lock down Squad 10 indefinitely. Back in the human world, Ichigo stumbles across an injured Hitsugaya while investigating some weird spiritual activity. Before Ichigo can get answers, Hitsugaya bolts. Once word gets out about what happened, Ichigo teams up with Rukia, Renji, and Matsumoto to clear Hitsugaya's name and figure out who actually stole the Ouin. Meanwhile, Hitsugaya's hunting down the real culprits—though he's distracted by ghosts from his own past that keep coming back to haunt him.
