Synopsis

Nobita wants to prove the Monkey King actually existed, so he and Doraemon travel back to when Sanzo's pilgrimage began. Doraemon sets up a virtual video game console running "Journey to the West" to outfit Nobita in the Monkey King's clothes. Things don't go as planned though—Nobita fails to prove anything. When Nobita and his friends play through the game, they manage to beat it without fighting a single demon. But when they return to their own time, they discover their world is now overrun by them. Turns out Doraemon never properly shut down the game console in the past, leaving it open long enough for demons to start pouring into reality. Now Doraemon and the group have to head back to the past and actually defeat those demons before their world gets completely taken over.
