Doraemon's a robot cat from the future—though people constantly mistake him for a tanuki, which he's definitely not. He was sent back in time with one job: help out Nobita, a pretty hopeless kid who needed it. The thing that makes Doraemon actually useful is the four-dimensional pocket built into his chest. He can pull basically anything out of it—crazy futuristic gadgets that usually make whatever situation he's trying to fix infinitely more complicated. When he's not solving problems, he's eating dorayaki, his comfort food of choice. He also has a sister named Dorami, though she doesn't show up nearly as often as he does.
