Synopsis

Mireille Bouquet, a professional assassin living in Paris, gets a cryptic email from Kirika Yuumura, a Japanese schoolgirl who wants to "make a pilgrimage to the past" together. Mireille almost deletes it, but changes her mind when the email plays a song from her childhood—something that shouldn't be possible for a random stranger to know. When they finally meet in person, armed men immediately attack them. Mireille handles herself fine, but Kirika proves to be just as dangerous, taking down multiple attackers with ease. The strange thing is, Kirika is disturbed by her own lack of guilt over killing people. She has no idea where she learned to fight like that, or who she even really is. Realizing they're connected somehow, Mireille decides to work with her. The two team up and start taking on contracts under the codename "Noir," using each job as a way to dig into their shadowy pasts. But as the pieces start falling into place, their partnership gets tested—because the truth they're uncovering keeps changing the game.
