Sing "Yesterday" for Me
Yesterday wo Utatte
Rikuo Uozumi has pretty much given up on life. He's stuck working the graveyard shift at a convenience store in Tokyo after college, going nowhere fast. Then Haru Nonaka shows up—quirky, energetic, and weirdly determined to be his friend. She keeps coming by his store, and Rikuo can't quite figure out why she cares so much. Things shift when Shinako Morinome, an old college friend Rikuo used to have feelings for, moves back to town. He decides to reach out, hoping to finally make something happen between them. The problem? Shinako's carrying around baggage from her past that's keeping her from letting him in. As Haru opens up to Rikuo over time, he realizes they're in the same boat—both living alone, both stuck, both wanting to break out of their routines but terrified of what comes next. So basically, these three are all stuck on their own version of the same problem: how do you move forward when the past won't let go? The story's about learning to let yesterday go and actually face whatever tomorrow's going to throw at them.
