Synopsis

Kohachi Inugami, an occult detective, shows up at a secluded village to look into a bizarre problem: livestock keeps turning up dead and mangled for no clear reason. A local innkeeper asked him to figure out what's going on. While he's investigating, he spots a peculiar kid working the fields—a farmhand everyone calls "Dorotabou" because he reeks and keeps to himself. Inugami decides to bring the boy in to help with the case, which earns him some dirty looks from the villagers. But for Dorotabou, this is huge. He's about to discover that there's an entire hidden world of beast-like creatures called Kemono living alongside humans. It's the kind of purpose and connection his lonely life has been missing.
