Synopsis

The Elric brothers—Edward and Alphonse—are chasing down a rogue alchemist when they end up in Milos, a struggling valley where the local people are fighting to break free from Creta, a militaristic nation that conquered them years ago. At the heart of the conflict is Julia Crichton, a girl determined to help her people reclaim their independence and rebuild as a peaceful nation. The brothers befriend Julia and get pulled into the local resistance movement, which is built around the Philosopher's Stone—the very thing they've been hunting. Given their troubled history with the stone, though, Ed and Al are hesitant to get involved. As they dig deeper into what Creta is actually after and uncover some ugly truths about the country's past, the brothers can't stay on the sidelines anymore. They're forced to pick a side in the escalating conflict between Milos's freedom fighters and Creta's military machine.
