Synopsis

Luffy's a cheerful kid who somehow survives getting pulled through a massive whirlpool, only to wash up on a ship that's under siege by pirates. Don't let his goofy demeanor fool you though—he's an incredible fighter and a pirate himself, dead set on finding the One Piece and becoming King of the Pirates. Years ago, the previous Pirate King, Gol D. Roger, basically told the entire world where he hid his treasure and challenged everyone to come get it. Since then, tons of powerful pirates have ventured out to find it, most never coming back. Luffy's starting from scratch without a crew or even a decent ship, but he's got superhuman powers and an unshakeable determination that makes him dangerous and inspires those around him. As Luffy tackles obstacle after obstacle with a grin on his face, he recruits an unlikely crew of companions to sail alongside him. Together they dive headfirst into a wild, unpredictable journey filled with real dangers and amazing discoveries.
