Zoro was Luffy's first recruit, and he's best known for his three-sword fighting style—santoryu—which involves wielding a katana in each hand and a third in his mouth. He can adapt to one or two swords when needed, and he ties his arm bandana around his head when things get serious.
He fights with a code. Though he's not technically a samurai, he carries himself with a strict bushido ethos and gets mistaken for one often enough. Unlike most of the crew, Zoro will kill if necessary, but never casually. He's blunt about harsh truths, which catches people off guard until they realize he's usually right.
Personality-wise, he's stern and serious on the surface, but his actual day-to-day vibe is more goofy and exaggerated—a gruff impatience that makes him react dramatically to minor stuff. On deck, he's either training with weights, sleeping, or using his absurd strength to hoist the anchor. He loves sake nearly as much as Luffy loves meat, though his inhuman tolerance means he never actually gets drunk. His legendary weakness is his sense of direction; he can get lost literally anywhere, even in tiny spaces or when someone's actively guiding him.
What's interesting is that despite being hopeless with navigation, Zoro's usually the first to sense danger and react to it. He's constantly aware of threats around him.
He's called himself an atheist and says he's never believed in anything except his own strength. Yeah, he comes across as arrogant, but that's less ego and more just. knowing what he's capable of. What sets him apart is his commitment to honesty—he won't falsely brag or lie about what he can do, and he'll admit weaknesses straight-up, even to enemies. He refuses to run from fights or use dirty tricks, seeing that as cowardly. He's vigorous, strong-willed, and determined, and despite his already impressive skills, he knows he's got untapped potential and never stops training to improve.
