Hikaru Hoshina is an energetic middle schooler obsessed with space and anything occult. While doodling constellations in her notebook, a small fluffy creature suddenly pops out of the page. She names it Fuwa, and discovers it's actually an alien capable of opening warp holes. When Fuwa's companions—aliens Lala Hagoromo and Prunce—show up on Earth, they're on a mission to find the Precure, legendary warriors destined to save the universe. Unfortunately, they're not alone. An organization called the Notraiders arrives shortly after, determined to capture Fuwa and exploit its power. Desperate to protect her new friend, Hikaru transforms into "Cure Star"—one of the very Precure that Lala and the others have been searching for. Now Hikaru has to defend Earth against the Notraiders' attacks, track down the other Precure, and locate the Star Color Pens. These artifacts are the key to awakening the 12 Star Princesses, cosmic beings who maintain universal balance.
