Synopsis

The Valiante Kingdom's witch hunts have been raging for seventeen years, growing more violent by the day—all in the king's name. What the citizens don't know is that the real targets are humanity's secret guardians: the Makai Knights and Alchemists. These warriors protect people from Horrors, demonic creatures born from souls drowning in despair and suffering. Leon Luis is one such Makai Knight. At seventeen, he's inherited the legendary Garo armor from his mother, granting him immense power. But he's haunted by rage over her death at the kingdom's hands, and it's eating away at him. His father German—the feared Shadow Cutting Knight Zoro—is still pushing Leon to grow stronger when he gets called to the capital to investigate a spike in Horror activity. German sees Leon's resolve cracking, but he brings him along anyway, hoping the mission will help forge his resolve. Meanwhile, Prince Alfonso San Valiante is trying to figure out how to handle the Horror crisis threatening his kingdom. Things go bad fast: he's betrayed and exiled. Now he needs to find allies and power if he ever wants to take back his throne. During his desperate search, he crosses paths with Leon. That meeting between the prince and the young knight will set both of them on completely different paths.
