Synopsis

It's been years since the Great War ended. With a radio tower under construction in Leidenschaftlich and phones becoming more common, the demand for Auto Memory Dolls is starting to dry up. But Violet Evergarden's reputation only keeps growing—her letter-writing work is consistently brilliant. Still, sometimes what you want most is the last thing you'll ever find. The movie follows Violet as she grapples with understanding emotion and what love really means. At the same time, she chases down a fragile possibility: that Gilbert, the man who told her "I love you" all those years ago, might somehow still be alive.
