Synopsis

In this world, people gain special abilities by eating something called a Skill Fruit—but there's a catch. You only get one in your lifetime. A second one kills you instantly. Light Underwood was counting on getting something amazing that would let him become an adventurer alongside his childhood friend Lena Floria. Instead, he got Fruitmaster, a skill that basically just makes him better at growing fruit. To make matters worse, Lena ended up with an incredible ability and they drifted apart. Light accepts his fate and becomes a farmer, eventually adopting a girl named Ayla Lawrence. Then one day, a misunderstanding leads both of them to eat Skill Fruits. They should've died. They didn't. Light somehow survives and gains a second skill—this one actually useful for combat—while keeping his original ability. As far as anyone knows, he's the only person who can pull this off. Now Light sees his shot. He's determined to catch up to Lena and become the strongest adventurer the world's ever seen.
