Eagle Riders
Kagaku Ninja-tai Gatchaman II
Two years after taking down Galactor and Condor Joe's apparent death, a cruise ship gets attacked by Leader X, wiping out nearly everyone aboard. A young girl survives the attack but is captured and rapidly aged into Gel Sadra—a bizarre villainess with a deep voice who acts like a petulant child despite her adult appearance. When Galactor resurfaces, the Science Ninja Team gets called back. A shady operative named Hawk Getz joins as Joe's replacement, but he's quickly exposed as a Galactor spy—and he'd actually killed the real Getz to take his place. Getz gets taken out by a mysterious feather shuriken. After some hints drop in the early episodes, Joe shows up in episode four, alive against all odds. Turns out he'd been rescued by a defected Galactor scientist on his deathbed and went through extensive cybernetic modifications to survive. As the series progresses, a female scientist named Dr. Pandora enters the picture. She lost her husband and daughter in that same cruise ship disaster. She has no idea her daughter actually survived—she's Gel Sadra.
