Synopsis

Uzumaki Kirie Goshima lives an ordinary life in the small town of Kurouzu-cho until one day she spots her boyfriend's father, Shuuichi Saito's dad, obsessing over a snail shell in an alley. When she mentions it to Shuuichi, he confirms his father's been acting increasingly strange. More troubling to Shuuichi is the town itself—he's convinced it's infected with spirals and desperately wants to escape with Kirie. His father's fixation on the spiral shape turns out to be just the beginning. What follows is a cascade of disturbing, inexplicable events that slowly drives the entire town insane.
