Synopsis

Asuna Yuuki is a top student coasting toward her high school entrance exams when her friend Mito convinces her to blow off some studying and join her for the launch of Sword Art Online, a hotly anticipated VR MMO. Asuna agrees and logs in—only to find herself trapped along with thousands of other players. They're stuck in the game indefinitely, and there's no way out except to clear all hundred floors. Oh, and dying in-game means dying in real life. What started as a fun break turns into a nightmare. Asuna and the other players have to learn fast, get strong, and work their way through the tower. She crosses paths with other survivors like Kirito, a lone swordsman grinding his way up, and together they navigate both the game's deadly challenges and the cutthroat competition among players all racing to reach the top.
