Nanako Usami is a high school student in the small rural town of Nagarekawa. Her uncle, who works at city hall, asks her to perform in a stage show at the local zoo as part of an effort to promote the town. At the show, she runs into Yukari Kohinata, an older girl from her school who's also performing. With Yukari's help, Nanako gets through the performance, and the two decide to team up. They become the "Nagarekawa Girls," a local idol group dedicated to putting their hometown on the map.
