Synopsis

This was a special that premiered at the Jump Super Anime Tour in 2009. In this world, food quality is everything—flavor and texture are what matter most. There's a whole profession of luxury food hunters called Bishoku-ya who track down rare ingredients and exotic animals. Toriko is one of the best in the business, and his obsession is hunting down the world's most precious foods so he can create the ultimate multi-course meal. He's got inhuman strength and a deep knowledge of animals, which makes him perfect for the job. Restaurants and wealthy clients constantly hire him to bring back new and rare finds. His goal is straightforward: assemble a full dinner course using only the most delicious food in existence. He travels with a weak, timid chef who got inspired by Toriko's dream. The chef tags along to level up his cooking skills and hunt for rare ingredients alongside him.
