Synopsis

Rintarou Okabe is an eccentric scientist obsessed with pushing the boundaries of innovation. Along with his spacey but kindhearted friend Mayuri and his roommate Itaru, he runs the Future Gadget Laboratory—ostensibly to create mind-bending technology. In reality, their only successful invention is a microwave that turns bananas into green paste. That changes when Okabe attends a time travel conference and experiences a series of bizarre incidents. He discovers the microwave can actually send text messages back in time. Intrigued, he keeps experimenting with his "time machine," which inevitably catches the attention of SERN, a shadowy organization with its own interests in temporal manipulation. Now Okabe and his friends are in real danger. As he grapples with the consequences of his discovery, he's forced into a desperate race against time—trying to undo the damage to the timeline, protect the people he cares about, and hold onto what's left of his sanity.
