Wakakusa no Yon Shimai
The Civil War has just started, and Mr. March, a doctor, has left to serve at the front, leaving his wife alone with their four daughters. Meg is the oldest; Jo is an aspiring writer with a tomboyish streak; Beth is shy and devoted to her piano; and Amy, the youngest, is an artist. The girls soon befriend their wealthy neighbor Mr. Laurence and his grandson Laurie, who's around Jo's age.
