Synopsis

Ryouta Miyagi is Shohoku's point guard and the team's speed demon. He's got great court sense and uses his lightning-quick pace to outmaneuver defenders, all while looking calm and collected. Growing up in Okinawa, he followed in his older brother's footsteps—the guy was a local basketball star—and ended up falling hard for the sport himself. Now in his second year at Shohoku, Ryouta's part of the lineup with Sakuragi, Rukawa, Akagi, and Mitsui as they make their run at the Inter-High National Championship. The team's finally gotten strong enough to take a real shot at dethroning the defending champions, Sannoh Kogyo.
