Synopsis

When shooting stars streak across the sky, Rinko Kougyoku and her friend Minami each make a wish. Except they weren't actually stars—they were Jewel Charms falling from the sky. These charms come from Jewel Land, a magical world where three magicians look after Jewelpets, magical creatures that can exist in their normal form or be compressed into charms for easy transport. Most Jewelpets don't mind, but a mischievous bunny named Ruby hates being trapped in charm form and decides to escape. When the magicians task a pelican with delivering the Jewelpets to the Dream Forest, things go wrong fast. A gust of wind throws the bird off course, and all the charms scatter over Earth instead of reaching their destination. Everyone except Ruby ends up in Rinko's city. Since Ruby caused all the trouble in the first place, she gets stuck with the job of retrieving them. Ruby crashes to Earth as a red charm and lands in Rinko's water glass—and that's how the adventure really begins. With Minami's help, Rinko teams up with Ruby to track down all the scattered Jewelpets. Along the way they'll face strange creatures and find unexpected allies. But bringing everyone home safely? That might be harder than they thought.
