Synopsis

Kaiji Itou's back to his old ways after racking up serious debt. He crosses paths with Yuuji Endou on the street—a debt collector working for the Teiai Group—and, thinking he's stumbled onto another gambling opportunity, eagerly tails him. He quickly learns otherwise when he gets kidnapped. With no way to pay what he owes, the Teiai Group gives him an ultimatum: work it off in an underground labor camp for the next 15 years. His only shot at getting out early is saving enough money to take a single day off to the surface, where he'll make back the rest through high-stakes gambling. But Kaiji's meager earnings are constantly under threat from various temptations, and he might find himself forced to gamble sooner than planned.
