Synopsis

Ushio's always dismissed his father's story about an ancestor who pinned a demon to a temple altar with the legendary Beast Spear as pure folklore. Then he discovers an actual monster trapped in his basement, and suddenly the family legend doesn't seem so crazy anymore. Ushio figures the smartest move is to just leave the thing where it is and not cause trouble. But the demon's evil energy starts leaking out, attracting a swarm of other spirits to his town. With his friends and family in danger, Ushio has no choice but to free the trapped demon—a beast called Tora—to fight off the invaders. The question is whether that's actually a solution or just trading one disaster for another. Can the Beast Spear keep Tora under control, or is Ushio just signing up to become a demon's lunch?
