Synopsis

In Cosmic Era 0071, a battle between two mobile suits destroys a neutral country. Shinn Asuka loses his entire family in the chaos and becomes obsessed with revenge, convinced the Earth's Naturals are to blame. He climbs the ranks of ZAFT until he finally gets his hands on the prototype Impulse mobile suit. Athrun Zala, working as a bodyguard for diplomat Cagalli Yula Athha, gets pulled back into conflict—this time between Naturals and Coordinators, artificially enhanced humans despised by their unmodified counterparts for their genetic superiority. As war breaks out again, Athrun takes Shinn under his wing. His real challenge is preventing the angry kid from letting vengeance consume him entirely, and maybe teaching him that mercy matters.
