Synopsis

Sixteen-year-old Maika Sakuranomiya desperately needs a part-time job to fund studying abroad, but keeps getting rejected from interviews. The problem? Her natural smile comes across as genuinely terrifying, even though she's actually pretty cheerful. It's a rough deal. That changes when she stumbles into Café Stile, a quirky coffee shop where the waitstaff play up exaggerated personas for customers who are into that sort of thing. The Italian manager, Dino, takes one look at Maika and decides she's perfect—specifically, as the "sadistic" waitress. Against the odds, it actually works. Her scary smile plus her clumsiness somehow land perfectly with their masochistic regulars. With coworkers like Kaho (who does the tsundere thing) and younger staffer Mafuyu, Maika leans hard into her new role. Turns out her biggest weakness—that unintentionally menacing smile—is exactly what she needed all along.
