Subaru Hasegawa dreams of becoming a basketball legend, but those hopes get crushed when his school shuts down its basketball program for a year. Devastated, he decides to quit the sport entirely. Then his aunt Mihoshi Takamura shows up and asks him to coach the girls' basketball team at Keishin Academy. He's reluctant, but agrees anyway. The team turns out to be five sixth-graders: Tomoka Minato, Maho Misawa, Airi Kashii, Hinata Hakamada, and Saki Nagatsuki. Subaru takes them under his wing with a simple mission—train them to beat every opponent they face. Ro-Kyu-Bu! follows these five elementary school girls and their coach as they work their way up in basketball, playing with an adorable style all their own.
