Synopsis

Fifteen years ago, a hyperspace gate opened up in the middle of the Pacific Ocean and connected Earth to another world—one filled with fairies and monsters. San-Teresa became ground zero, swelling to over two million otherworldly residents almost overnight. The rapid growth came with serious downsides: drugs, prostitution, human trafficking. The city needed a dedicated task force to handle it, so a new department was created within the San-Teresa Metropolitan Police. Kei Matoba, a former JSDF soldier, is one of the department's top officers. He gets results, even if he's willing to cut corners to do it. When a fairy trafficking operation goes sideways, Kei loses his partner and best friend Rick Fury—four years of working together, gone. The loss pushes him to hunt down whoever's responsible. The department assigns him a partner to help with the case: Tilarna Exedilika, a noble from the Farbani Kingdom and a member of the Knights of Mirvor. Her mission is to recover a missing noble fairy connected to Kei's investigation. Kei isn't thrilled about working with a non-human, but his superiors leave him little choice. The two have to put aside their differences and learn to work together if they want to track down the missing fairy, bring her home, and get justice for Rick.
