MegaMan: Wishing upon a Star
Rockman Hoshi ni Negai wo
This is Episode 2 of a special that was supposed to be part of the original Ruby-Spears Mega Man cartoon from around 1995. The episode follows Rockman as he travels from the game world to Japan to experience the real world and learn about Japanese culture. Here's the thing though—it was finished before Ruby-Spears completely overhauled the show's design to better appeal to American audiences. Since the episode no longer fit with the new direction, it never made it into the series. A couple more episodes continuing the same story were made later on, but this time they were branded under the title "Rockman" instead of "Mega Man" (even the Japanese dub calls him Rockman in those later episodes). For years, it was unclear whether these three episodes ever got an official release. Then in 2002, Capcom Japan finally put them out on DVD as part of Rockman's 15th Anniversary celebration. Both Japanese and English dubs are included, though there are no subtitles. Whether there are other lost animated projects from the original Rockman series remains a mystery.
