Keiji Inafune is a Japanese video game producer, illustrator, and businessman best known for his work on Capcom's Mega Man franchise. He joined Capcom in the late 1980s as an illustrator and character designer, and fans often credit him with defining the visual style of Mega Man across the NES and Super NES era—he also created Zero, one of the series' most iconic characters. From 1996's Mega Man 8 onward, he transitioned into producing, overseeing numerous Mega Man titles. His influence at Capcom grew significantly; he eventually headed Research & Development, Online Business, and served as the company's Global Head of Production.
Beyond Mega Man, Inafune produced the Lost Planet and Dead Rising series and co-created Onimusha.
In 2010, he left Capcom to start his own studio, Comcept, where he serves as CEO. There he's developed Mighty No. 9 and is working on the Red Ash: The Indelible Legend games.
