Synopsis

When someone dies, their soul is supposed to move on to the Soul Society. But if a soul lingers too long in the human world, it mutates into a Hollow—a corrupted creature that preys on other souls. That's where Soul Reapers come in. They hunt down Hollows and guide lost souls to where they belong. Ichigo Kurosaki and Rukia Kuchiki are Soul Reapers who regularly deal with Hollows showing up around Karakura Town. Things get weird when they run into "Blanks"—soulless entities with no memories that can't be purified through normal Reaper methods. A Soul Reaper named Senna steps in to help them fight off the Blanks, though neither Ichigo nor Rukia have ever heard of her before. Then it gets stranger. A duplicate of the human world starts appearing above Soul Society. Nobody knows what's causing it, and Senna refuses to explain anything about herself or how she's connected to what's happening. The mystery only deepens from there.
