Humans and demons once coexisted peacefully, but that changed when demons began attacking humans and plotted to free Gyumao, an ancient evil imprisoned for millennia. To stop them, Genjo Sanzo—an unconventional priest—reluctantly partners with three demons: the hot-headed Sha Gojyo, the energetic Son Goku, and the composed Cho Hakkai. Together, they head west on a dangerous mission to prevent Gyumao's resurrection and restore peace between the two worlds.
