Synopsis

Joker is a mysterious phantom thief who pulls off incredible heists night after night, always staying one step ahead of the dogged detective Dokusaburou Oniyama. He calls himself the "Miracle Maker" and uses a mix of sleight of hand, gadgets, and illusions to slip away whenever the cops close in. During a heist to steal the Dragon Gem from a rich guy's mansion, Joker runs into Hachi—a bumbling but well-meaning ninja who's after the same prize. Hachi is basically a huge fan of Joker's, though Joker couldn't care less about him at first. They end up working together anyway and pull off the job successfully. Impressed by Hachi's guts and usefulness (especially his talent for cleaning), Joker grudgingly takes him on as an apprentice. From there, Joker and Hachi move from one target to the next, running into rival phantom thieves along the way. Some are old acquaintances, others are fresh challenges. As the stakes rise, Joker's got his sights set on one goal: proving he's the greatest "magician" of the night.
