A 20-year-old hikikomori gets yanked out of his apartment by a goddess who offers him a fresh start. She loads him up with broken magic abilities, but when he's reborn as Prince Reinhardt, his powers only measure at Level 2—apparently useless. His disappointed parents dump him in the woods, where he renames himself Haruto and meets Flay, a Flame Fenrir who becomes his loyal companion. His uncle Gold Zenfis finds them and decides to raise the kid himself. Fast forward nine years. Haruto's actually a beast with barrier magic, but he keeps it hidden because he'd rather not deal with people asking for help. His younger sister Charlotte figures out he's way stronger than he pretends, though, and with Flay's help he ends up having to protect her and the rest of the family anyway. As political scheming starts brewing in the kingdom, Haruto's peaceful dream of staying home and watching anime gets pretty much impossible. Looks like he'll have to actually use those powers to keep his family safe.
