Synopsis

Brandon Heat and Harry MacDowel are inseparable friends living a carefree life—getting into street fights, chasing women, and stealing what they need to get by. That all changes in an instant when a brutal encounter forces them to confront just how harsh the real world can be. Desperate for a way forward, both men join Millennion, the region's most powerful mafia organization, starting from the bottom. Harry's got his eyes set on the top, dreaming of one day running the whole operation in place of Big Daddy. Brandon, meanwhile, is mainly focused on helping his friend and keeping Big Daddy happy—especially since the crime boss controls access to the woman Brandon loves. Adapted from the third-person shooter video game of the same name, Gungrave traces a sprawling story of friendship, betrayal, and greed across years. The narrative circles back to the ominous first episode while building toward a dramatic climax, weaving together how everything connects.
