Synopsis

When an alien spacecraft mysteriously crashes on Earth, humanity discovers they're not alone in the universe. The discovery forces world governments to put aside their differences and unite under the UN, creating a combined military force. They decide to restore the alien ship and call it the SDF-1 Macross. But things go wrong fast. On its first voyage, a massive Zentradi fleet appears in Earth's orbit. The Macross fires on them without orders, and suddenly humanity is at war with an alien civilization it knows nothing about. In a desperate escape attempt, the ship tries to jump to the Moon's orbit but instead gets teleported across the galaxy—taking an entire city with it. Among the people caught in this disaster are Hikaru Ichijou, a hotshot acrobatic pilot, and Minmay Lynn, a young singer chasing her dreams. As the Macross crew fights for survival in deep space, Hikaru and Minmay get pulled into an intense, harrowing journey that forces them to confront the brutal reality of war.
