Synopsis

Eiichirou Maruo is a straight-A student who decides he needs to get in shape. After spotting a flyer for the Southern Tennis Club, he joins during his first year of high school as a casual way to stay active. There he meets Natsu Takasaki, another freshman who's dead set on going pro—she genuinely loves tennis. Eiichirou's different. He's been grinding through school because he feels like he has to, not because he wants to. But the more he plays, the more tennis hooks him, and his boring routine suddenly becomes way more interesting. Baby Steps follows Eiichirou as he channels his natural discipline and perfectionist streak into developing his own approach to the game. As his skills gradually sharpen, he starts chasing the dream of competing with tennis's elite players.
