Synopsis

Luo Xiaohei is a young monster who usually looks like a small black cat. He's been living freely in the forest, but deforestation and human expansion keep pushing him out. Eventually he ends up wandering the city streets, struggling just to survive, until he meets Feng Xi—another monster who brings him to an isolated island where a handful of monsters live. Xiaohei thinks he's finally found a real home, but it doesn't last long. A human Guild Executor named Wuxian shows up hunting for Feng Xi. When Feng Xi and the others manage to escape the island through teleportation, they leave Xiaohei behind with Wuxian. The black cat won't cooperate with the man who just attacked his friends, but Wuxian forces him to come along to the Guild anyway. As they travel together, Xiaohei starts to see things differently—learning what's really going on between humans and monsters in a world that's changing fast.
